Mechanical and structural design
Mechanical and structural engineering design services offered by 3Point2 encompass feasibility studies (FEED), concept, basic and detailed designs. Our detailed calculations and analysis cover the equipment’s strength, deflection, fatigue, plasticity and crack propagation. We also perform detailed calculations on weld, test weld strength, tackle efficiency, catenaries and bearing applications. Our engineers work with leading 2D and 3D drawing and modelling software from AutoDesk such as Inventor and AutoCAD, simulation integration platform Ansys Workbench, and other in-house software to deliver customised solutions to our clients.
Our teams aim to introduce new concepts and provide fresh approaches to your project challenges. We provide design reports, including shop drawings, method engineering statements and any relevant production documentation, and ensure we achieve class approval by accredited certification bodies such as DNV, ABS, LRS and BV. Class-approved design reports allow clients the flexibility to modify solutions in the future should they wish to do so.
